Current Events
Students will have the opportunity to receive extra credit by turning in current events. In order to get credit, the Current Event MUST be turned in by the 5th week of each 6 week grading period.
The Current Event must be:
--an article or story that occurred during the grading period
--a typed summary of the article by answering the 5 "W's"...Who? What? Where? When? Why?
--on topic with something relevant we studied within the grading period
--compared/contrasted with our units of study
At any time during the grading period, students can turn in current events. Students will only receive extra credit for 1 Current Event per 6 week grading period. However, if the student's work is selected as the "Current Event of the Week", it will be displayed on the Current Event board in the classroom, and extra points will be awarded.
